The Judith Trust – Closing the gaps for all those with learning disability & mental ill-health

The Judith Trust:

  • Commissions and carries out research and supports innovative projects
  • Forms strategic alliances with government departments, voluntary organisations and academic institutions
  • Brings together groups of professionals and others, including individuals with learning disabilities and mental ill-health, for specific purposes
  • Campaigns on behalf of and with people with learning disabilities and mental ill-health
  • Promotes examples of good practice and the sharing of knowledge in its publications, seminars and conferences
  • Takes a gendered perspective in all its work
  • Does not accept unsolicited applications for funding, but is pleased to hear from organisations who wish the Trust to be aware of their work
  • Does not fund individuals

The Judith Trust’s Strategic Plan 2011 – 2014

The Trust’s three year strategic plan has been developed to set the framework for the work of the Judith Trust, to close the gaps for all those with learning disability and mental ill-health.

Our Key Strategic Objectives

The Judith Trust has identified six strategic objectives:

Strategic Objective: Strengthen the Trust’s capacity and continue to build on its unique work Strategic Objective: Voice the needs of individuals with learning disabilities and mental ill-health
Strategic Objective: Ensure the prevention of possible abuses of those with learning disabilities and mental ill-health Strategic Objective: Strengthen joint working and practice across agencies and the wider community
Strategic Objective: Identify and respond to emerging, high profile and new issues to ensure continuous improvement among policy makers Strategic Objective: Develop the Judith Trust’s internal infrastructure and build on its profile
