Campaigns and Advocacy Intern

Reporting to: Policy Manager                                   
Salary: Voluntary (though reasonable travel and lunch expenses will be covered)

Location: Ideally home-based with regular supervision meetings/briefings with Policy manager as well as telephone communication. If home working is not suitable candidates can work in the Judith Trust office on Mondays or Wednesdays.

Time: 1-2 days a week.

Commitment: Ideally, we are looking for a candidate who can commit for at least 2-3 months (with a possible extension of up to 6 months).

                                                         

Overall responsibilities


The Judith Trust campaigns intern will be responsible for helping to broaden awareness of the Judith Trust's work and build up its profile through media and social networking. The Campaigns Intern will also be responsible for helping to develop and deliver the Judith Trust's Inclusion campaign through advocacy work and development of campaign materials.



Specific duties

1. Raising the profile of the Judith Trust through: 

  • Updating the Judith Trust website regularly (news stories etc
  • Social networking- creating a facebook page for the Judith Trust and updating it regularly
  • Investigating ways of upgrading website
  • Compiling and maintaining a list of relevant media contacts

2. Inputting to the development and delivery of our Inclusion campaign by:

  • Writing campaign materials: specifically developing a campaign toolkit 
  •  Helping with campaign communications
  •  Helping to build a database for targeted campaign communications
  •  Assisting in delivering campaign events as well as attending relevant events

3. Any other relevant campaign and advocacy work relating to the Judith Trust.


4. The Judith Trust is a very small charity and as such sometimes we may ask you to help out with general administrative tasks.
