We at the Judith Trust, love this amazing initiative here in the UK by Stay Up Late. Adults with learning disabilities are to be paired with a volunteer, a new friend, a Gig Buddy. Gig Buddies ‘matches adults who have a learning disability to a volunteer who has similar interests to go to events together that they both love‘. (gigbuddies.org.uk)
With their Gig buddy, they socialise and travel to concerts/gigs and other events together, promoting fun, independence, social skills outside the home and above all happiness and laughter!
